Writing Tip #1: Give the story, not just the image

Exercise: Grab a photo, any photo. This can be a picture of you at the beach. It can be of a hike you took at Yellowstone. It can be a picture of your birthday party. Or it can be a simple picture of you and a friend.
Now, for 15 minutes, write everything you can about his photo: who’s in it, where does the picture take place, what smells do you remember from when this photo was taken, why did you take the photo, etc.

Goal: Get yourself thinking about the storybooking process. Storybooking is not only about preserving photos, it’s about preserving the whole memory. And without the words, the pictures don’t mean anything to the reader.

Holiday Storybooking Tips

Let "My StoryBook Lady" help you cruise through the holidays and get your Heritage Makers projects on time and under those trees. Here are a few tips to keep in mind to help the process go smoothly.

1. Make sure your projects are published. Orders can't be placed until the "publish" button has been pushed.
2. Sometimes, you need to call Client Services. Before you call, have your account number ready. This will help the friendly agent on the other end of the phone assist you easier.
3. Have a Studio question? Wondering how to drag and drop? Check out the recorded Studio classes in Studio. You may even learn a new tip!
4. Check out your Genealogy in the Virtual Office. This helps consultants stay on top of their commissions and clients.

Keep these few tips in mind and your projects are sure to go much smoother. Happy Storybooking!
